An apology of sorts.

... Oops?

Sorry that I haven’t written since forever. Things happen; freedom, the composing of romantic sonnets with proper Shakespearean structure and everything, HSC results coming back (I GOT FULL MARKS FOR MY EXTENSION TWO MAJOR WORK GUYS EEE) and acceptance into a volunteer group travelling to South America next year. That’s just to mention a few of the brilliant things I’ve been up to recently that have prevented me from talking to you, or finishing my theories of life.

I promise that I’ll write more soon. Also, this’ll be a great way of keeping you up to date with my amazing adventures in Vietnam in a couple of weeks (if there’s much internet about) and then when I go to Ecuador ... it’ll probably be Ecuador ... next September.

So stay tuned, don’t hate me too much for not talking for ages, and enjoy the chronicles of my life as a proper adult who will never ever go to school ever again. J

Unless I become a teacher.

Love you like 50/50.

The Internet is a STUPID THING

It’s okay! Relax. I’m still alive guys – party at my house? So for those who actually care in the slightest about my well-being/state of aliveness (aka Claudia and Anna who called me up to make sure that I wasn’t, in fact, dead), this is what happened.

Half an hour after the last post, in which I announced that I would post again in half an hour so that you all would know that I was alive, the server crashed. Or something. I got a message which said:

Error 413 – The request made by your client was too large. That is all we know.

Then there was a little cartoon of a broken-down robot.

THANKS A LOT GOOGLE. THANKS A BLOODY LOT. All you know my foot.

I tried commenting on the last post, making a long and sincere apology and reassurance that I was still breathing. It didn’t work. I couldn’t even log in or access my account. If anyone knows what that’s about or how to fix it, I’d appreciate the knowledge. Even my dad (computer genius guy) didn’t know how to fix it (or couldn’t be bothered ... we were watching Toy Story 3 and eating Thai entrees and stir fry at the time).

So after that whole saga is finished, I have some news to tell you guys.

NEWS? Wow, you have no idea how excited we are about that, Claresy.

I know, I know. So I’ll give you a hint. It starts with ‘e’ and it rhymes with “winglish hextension moo”.

Oh my goodness what happened with your English Extension Poo?

Real mature guys. Real mature. I had a brush with death yesterday, you were there, you heard all about it. You ought to be more considerate.

We’re awfully sorry. We love you, Clarey B, to the stars and back. Please, tell us your exciting news.

Oh, I just HANDED MY EXTENSION TWO MAJOR WORK IN YESTERDAY HOMG. Please ignore the ‘homg’, I also stayed up until 3:30 finishing it so I’m quite ... well, hyperactively exhausted. Had a nice long nap in English Advanced though. I also filmed a few bits and pieces for this thing I’m doing to say farewell to our year at our Farewell Breakfast at the end of next term sometime. But it’s not that easy. Why are my girlies so camera shy? I’m all nice, you know, hey guys, want to say something for the video Alex and I are making for the end of the year, and they go ARGH – A CAMERA. Tsk.

Is it because you physically attack them with the video camera, forcing them to present a self-conscious version of themselves to be immortalised forever in the medium of video?

Shut up. They’ll thank me one day ...

Today there was also a grab-as-many-tubs-of-Ben-and-Jerry’s-ice-cream-as-you-can-for-a-gold-coin-donation thing going on at Railway Square, Cindy and Hannie went during lunch and returned with their arms full of ice cream. Unfortunately (ha) it had to be eaten straight away as today is the last day of the term and we can’t leave anything in the freezer over the holidays. So that was deliciousness on a spoon.

Finally, my mum bought me a book called The Big Trip and it’s all about gap years and backpacking around the world etc. It is actually the most exciting thing I have ever seen IN MY LIFE. I am going to travel with Louise (hopefully) at the end of next year, we’re going to see the sights, I’m going to SWEDEN – although it’ll be winter there so I’m thinking that I should postpone that adventure till the middle of the year – and yes I am so excited. If you want tell me where I should go! J I’m very very excited. Life is pretty good atm.

Happy holidays to everyone on holidays. Happy “holidays” to all year twelves on “holidays”, don’t do too much study, I’m sure not going to.

Love you like the feeling of having handed in my extension two major work and knowing I’m not going to be murdered and the first day of holidays and adventuring and free ice cream and other things. (That’s a lot.)

Happiness in General and Poetic Thoughts #5

I’m happy – despite no longer coming first in modern L -- and it’s because I have very nearly finished my extension two draft (it needs editing, but I’ve only got a few more words to write write and then I’m GOOD), and I’ve helped Jermione finish the year 12 Chronicle report and it’s lovely, I think, and I had chocolate ice cream for dessert with bits of raspberry liquorice cut up in it. I came up with that idea myself. (I had to spend a long time thinking of how to spell liquorice and dessert. Both are difficult words to spell. I used to be so good at spelling too. It’s a real shame.)

Trials are scary – we got our timetable and I have Modern (three hours) and Drama (90 mins) on the same day – although I know people with six hours of exams on one day so I really can’t complain. Plus no one really cares about drama theory ... I think :S so that’s nice.

Also, it’s almost holidays – sorry, I meant “holidays” because these holidays are going to be pretty full of work. You should see the timetable I drew up though, it’s so pretty and organise-y. Purple for fun, blue for school-related excursions, green for study, pink for homework, and yellow for other. It’s sort of beautiful. And when I can’t decide whether something is fun or a school-related excursion (such as Kate and Chloe and me having a GP day sometime) I’m going to do a multi-coloured swirl.

So, a poem for you because I’m happy, and because I’ve officially titled this post “Happiness in general and Poetic Thoughts #5”:

Wishful Thinking

I wish I were my dog, her name is Maude.
She sleeps all day.
Sometimes she goes for walks.
Sometimes she eats.
But mainly she sleeps.
I would be Maude and I would sleep all day and eat sometimes and walk sometimes and I would get really really fat.
But I wouldn’t mind.
Because I would be a dog.

(I don't believe you are, as of yet, acquainted with Maudie. This is she, in younger, cuter days. Just kidding, she's still adorable of course.)

Extension Two is my life, is my soul, is my doom, is my ineptitude, is my lover, is my EVERYTHING. And then there's every other subject that I do. And you!

Heyo,

I have given up on the writing of 6000 words before tomorrow. Not going to happen. I think I wrote about only 500 last yesterday. Or just yesterday. Head = hurting.

It’s generally downhill from here, when I start to blog. I’ve admitted defeat and hurled myself into the nothingness of internet expression. But I’m kind of excited about my extension two major work, and want to vent, although that word is usually used in a pejorative sense, and there’s nothing negative about this venting. I’ve started collating the stuff and sticking it all together and it’s all brilliance and perhaps less than 2000 words, and my goal was 5000 by the end of the holidays … :P … but if I say so myself, these are really, REALLY good words that I’m super happy with. I’ve got a bunch more poetry to write, a lot of sections (my structure is about the house, and rooms of the house, and being trapped in the house, so each part of the story is confined within the walls of a room and sort of written, although less weirdly and more pretentiously, from the point of view of the walls. BUT NOT. I don’t actually say, “Boy, it’s hard to be a wall and witness all the shit this family has to go through, LOL.” I don’t. Ew yuck, although once I did write a modernist story form the POV of a grandfather clock and it was pretty … okay that one was bad too sorry.

Oh dear anyway. I tell you one thing you shouldn’t do if you haven’t got more than say 4000 words by now, and that’s go on Bored of Studies and read the threads concerning Extension 2. Or ANY SUBJECT if you’re like me and bad at being good. There were posts from January saying things like, “OH NO! I only have 4000 words. What do I do? EEK.”

How about not brag about it on the internet?

… That being said, if you have less than 2000 good words at the moment, I’m sorry if you think I’m being hypocritical. I probably am. But then it is almost May – MAY DAY ARGH SAVE US ALL – so we all should probably be more finished than unfinished.

Right. Ciao. Love you like I love big big word counts.
